2009 Pilgrimage Home: From Victoria to Vancouver

The trip was pleasant. My flight was supposed to be at 9pm. I arrived at 5:30. Shows that I had nothing to do but to wait for the time. He asked if I wanted to go on the 6pm flight. Having nothing else to do, I said yes.

So he booked me for the 6pm flight.

On entering security, I emptied my pockets and the metal detector beeped. The guard told me to empty everything in my pocket. I emptied everything, credit cards, keys, wallet and rosary. The guard first said beads then corrected himself and said 'rosary'. The detector still beeped. Turned out I still had some change in my pocket. What was strange is that when he swiped the detector on my body, it was beeping - softly though. Does this mean I have metal in my body?

Anyway, the I was seated at the end of the plane and at the aisle. I had the last row all to myself. When the flight attendant said the flight was 60 minutes, I took my rosary and prayed the glorious mystery. I was on my third mystery and the flight attendant said we were descending. Turns out I misheard, she meant 16 minutes! I finished my 5 mysteries and the Hail Holy Queen just as the plane stopped.

Vancouver airport is quite confusing. I did not know where to go! I called my nephew and niece to pick me up. While waiting for them to pick me up, I saw a lot of cars just parked with their cars idling! I said to myself, these guys would be ticketed if they were in Victoria.

My nephew and niece came and we had lunch at Hon's. Food in Richmond is cheap. Wonton noodle soup is not even $5. In Victoria, it costs about $7. One good thing about Richmond is food is cheap!

So here I am at their place- waiting for 10:30 pm before I ask them to drop me off again at the airport. At least I'm not sitting at the airport twiddling my thumb.

The flight to Hongkong should be interesting.
